THE LEARNING COMMUNITY AND CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS COLLABORATE ON ARTS TEACH ALL LUNCHEON SERIES
The Learning Community and local cultural institutions are pleased to announce Arts Teach All, a new luncheon series that promises to be enlightening and entertaining.
This series is collaboration that includes the International Bluegrass Museum, Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, Owensboro Area Museum of Science and History, Owensboro Public Art Commission, Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, RiverPark Center, Theatre Workshop of Owensboro and Western Kentucky Botanical Garden.
The series will begin December 10 when the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art hosts a lunch program in conjunction with the annual Holiday Forest exhibition and Crossroads: Spirituality in American Folk Tradition. Featuring more than 300 works of art, this major survey of contemporary art showcases the diversity of spirituality expressed by artists and craftsmen working outside the academic tradition. Representing artists from southern Appalachian, Native America and Hispanic cultures, Crossroads includes objects on loan from private and public collections across the nation. Continuing a tradition established in 1977, the Holiday Forest presents a forest of trees and special features complimenting Crossroads.
The program will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Reservations are required at least five days in advance of the event, and the cost is $15 per person. To make a reservation, contact Tracy Marksberry at The Learning Community at tmarksberry@owensboro.com or 926-4339.
The series was created to give residents a new way to explore the community’s amazing arts organizations. Bring a group from your workplace and find out what you’ve been missing.
